Even before the President Rule is lifted and JMM leader Hemant Soren is sworn in as Chief Minister of Jharkhand, lobbying for plum posts has reportedly begun in the corridors of power.
Though no body is ready to go on record, the posts for which lobbying was said to be on, include that of the Chief Secretary and the DGP.Though none of the IAS officers had contacted Hemant directly, his Raipur based associate was reportedly trying to influence him to appoint Vinod Agrawal as Chief Secretary in place of RS Sharma.
His another associate was said to be active to remove Rajiv Kumar as DGP and get Asha Sinha appointed in his place.Similarly, speculations were rife as to who will be the Principal Secretary to the CM in waiting.
Though Sukhdeo Singh, who was Principal Secretary of the then Deputy CM Hemant, was likely to be offered this prestigious post,BK Tripathy, who was on leave was reported to be in the race.
Last night, the office of the Governor despatched a file to the Union Home Ministry giving details of the political situation prevalent in the state. In fact,Hemant had staked claim to form the government with the backing of 43 MLAs on Tuesday.
After the Ministry recommends revocation of the President’s Rule and the President of India provides his assent to it,the Central rule will be lifted and Governor Ahmed will invite Hemant to take oath as Chief Minister. This is expected to take a couple of days.
