
A large quantity of explosives was recovered from a passenger train at Kita station near Ranchi and one person was arrested, the police said today.
Police, on the basis of intelligence report, raided the Burdwan-Hatia passenger train at Kita station and found half a kg of RDX, six country-made bombs, six timers, 24 gelatin sticks, four kg of urea, 250 gms of sulphur and 25 mt wire last night.
The arrested person has been identified as Intezar Ali and he, who claims to be a doctor, is a resident of Hindpidi at Ranchi, police said.
Ali told the police that the explosives were procured from Bangladesh. Police also raided Ali’s house and other places last night and seized his computer and other articles.
A letter written in coded words was also recovered and efforts were on to decipher it.
