The ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyaan’ of the Bharatiya Janata Party launched with the aim of adding thousands of new members in Jharkhand ended on July 31.
During this period lakhs of potential members gave the Bharatiya Janata Party a missed call so that the party activists could go to the homes of such people and help them become active members.
According to party insiders most party workers failed to do that. As a result the special campaign failed to add even 50 per cent of the total target.
According to sources one common reason for lack of enthusiasm in membership drive was the failure of the party leaders to recognize the contribution of workers and give them their due.
Moreover, the delay in constituting the boards and corporations has created resentment among party workers.
However, Jharkhand BJP vice-president Deepak Prakash reportedly said, “The Maha Sampark Abhiyan will continue. There was a special drive in July. We will achieve our target”.
“There were many factors, including monsoon, because of which the party could not achieve the desired result,” he added.
