The staff of the Jharkhand State Electricity Board are going to strike work for three days beginning tomorrow.

If the JSEB headed by its chairman SN Verma fails to avert their strike or make an alternative arrangement, darkness is bound to engulf this state, causing untold miseries to consumers.

These JSEB employees were opposing the unbundling of the JSEB into four bodies. The state government had unbundled JSEB as part of its initiative to reform the power sector in accordance with the Electricity Act ,2003.

But the agitators fear that their service records may get affected. And as such they, under the banner of Jharkhand Rajya Bijli Kamgar Union (JRBKU),had sent a notice of the strike to press for their 18-point charter of demands.

JRBKU had sent the notice to Verma on Monday.
