Four days before the last date for filing nomination papers ends on May 31,Jharkhand Mukti Morcha on Friday(May 27)declared that it will field its candidate in the coming Rajya Sabha elections in the state.
Though two RS seats were vacant in the state,the JMM having 19 MLAs in 81-member Jharkhand Assembly has decided to put up one candidate whose name was not disclosed till date.
To win the RS seat,JMM needs votes of atleast nine MLAs of its allies-the Congress and other Opposition parties.As such,the JMM working president Hemant Soren is expected to mobilise these allies.
”We will meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi and discuss the issue”,he said while addressing media persons inside Shibu Soren’s official residence in Ranchi on Friday
