The Jharkhand Government has decided to stop cow slaughter and sale of beef in the state. The government will strictly enforce the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.
Animal Husbandry Secretary Pradip Kumar said the deputy commissioners have been asked to enforce the Act strictly.
During his budget speech in March, Chief Minister Raghubar Das had underlined that the existing Act would be enforced effectively in Jharkhand and a complete ban would be imposed on smuggling of cows.
