Jharkhand Service Guarantee Act to aid people

Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba said today while addressing a meeting of the ‘Jharkhand Service Guarantee Act 2011’ in Ranchi, that the people should be made aware of the services offered by the government. The government hopes to undertake this task by means of newspapers, local television channels and pamphlets.

Under the ‘Jharkhand Service Guarantee Act 2011’ services will be provided to the people within a stipulated time frame. The services offered under this act include social security, pension, post mortem reports, caste certificates, character certificates, police verification, mutation etc..

The designated officer nominated in the application for the services provided under this act will be responsible for carrying out the requisite task in the designated time frame. The officer may refuse to act on the application stating reasons in a written format. Delay in providing services is punishable under this act and invites a fine of Rs 500-5000 from the officer’s salary.
