Jharkhand government has a plan to adopt the policy of Madhya Pradesh to develop kendu leaf.It has decided to deposit wages of kendu leaf collectors in grameen banks.
Issuing directions in this connection at a meeting with officials of the forest department on Wednesday, Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba directed them to ensure that there does not exist any middleman between kendu leaf collectors and contractor, an official release said.
Gauba has told the concerned officials to ensure kendu collectors get reasonable wages.
