BJP government in Jharkhand led by chief minister Raghubar Das is facing criticism from the Opposaition leaders who have demanded resignation from the state Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi on charge of corruption.
Reports in local Hindi dailies claim that Satyendra Narayan Singh, the personal secretary of Chandravanshi had sought Rs.1 lakh from a doctor for getting his suspension removed. The text of this video was published in a section of local newspapers.
This had prompted many leaders of Opposition parties demand dismissal of the state Health Minister whose aide had allegedly sought Rs.100,000 as a bribe to revoke a doctor`s suspension.
Though neither Das nor Chandravanshi has made any statement in this regard,Singh has denied allegations as ‘bogus’ and ‘attempt to malign’ him.
However,Jharkhand Vikas Morcha’s legislator Pradeep Yadav and the Congress party’s Alok Dubey have in common argued that since the CM Raghubar Das has time and again claimed that the state government led by him is committed to fight corruption, the state Health Minister Chandravanshi must be dismissed and an impartial probe conducted to inquire into the charge of corruption against him.
Asked about the response of the BJP toward the demand of these Opposition leaders,Pradeep Sinha, Jharkhand BJP spokesperson Pradeep Yadav admitted that the charge is ‘serious’.But he added:”before taking any action,we have to examine the authenticity of the audio tape.”
