Women football players in Jharkhand have slammed the Sports Authority of Jharkhand and the government for allegedly neglecting their need for setting up proper football stadiums for training while spending huge amount on stadiums for cricket and hockey players in the state.
The players alleged that except for Tata Football Academy, there are no stadiums where they can practice. Aspiring sports women have come to Ranchiy from neighbouring Odisha and Bihar, but they have to practice in Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre, they claimed.
Consequently, the performance of the players has been adversely affected and no woman football player from Jharkhand has been able to make a mark at the national level.
