Jharkhand displayed its beauty and strength at the International Trade Fair, 2012,held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi,according to the state government.
A press release issued by the Public Relation Department’s PK Jha claimed that the state’s ancient land,industry and resources were exhibited to the national and international audience at IITF.”Especially, Jharcraft showcased its handicraft made of silk and cotton along with idols of reputed tribes in Dokra skills”,said the release.
“The Department of Mines has displayed its variety of emeralds (decorative stones),attracting visitors. So was the case with the Department of Forest whose exhibitions of biological and national park, deer breeding park, elephant reserve and sanctuaries amidst picturesque dense forest charmed the onlookers.
Similarly,the department of Tourism has juxtaposed religious and tourist spots.Even the Department of Health showed the strength and utility of medicinal plants grown in Jharkhand.
In addition,many products of handicrafts made by rural artisans under governmental patronage were put up.These included furniture,ornaments, paintings, lac bangles,cosmetics and so on.
By setting up their stalls top companies such as Jindal Steel and Power, TATA Motors, Tata Steel and SAIL put up their products.The Cabinet Secretary, Mr. N.N. Panday and Secretary, Industries, Mr. A.P. Singh visited the pavallion”,said the release.
