Jharkhand Cabinet approves Rs five crore relief fund for Jammu and Kashmir

In the wake of horrendous Jammu and Kashmir floods, the Jharkhand cabinet on Thursday decided to send Rs. five crore as relief fund to the flood affected state. The cabinet also gave its nod to set-up relief camps in J and K to provide immediate relief and ensure safe return of those who belong to Jharkhand. A team consists of labour and police department officers will arrange the camp in the flood affected state to salvage Jharkhand’s citizens who are trapped in the flood affected areas. The team will bring back the people of Jharkhand by air at the state government’s expenses.

The cabinet also decided to provide cycles to girl students belonging to SC, ST,  backward classes,  minority and those girl students of class VIII  whose attendance in the class is above and 80 percent studying in government schools run by welfare department.

In another important decision, the state cabinet gave permission to set-up check post for the collection of commercial taxes at Bahragoda, Megahatri, Raidih and Murisemar in the state. Besides, the cabinet approved of the Jharkhand State Parents Livelihood Welfare Regulation, 2014. According to the regulation the children will have to pay a livelihood amount up to Rs. 10, 000 to their parents if they are not willing to stay with them.
