
Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Sumitra Mahajan today inaugurated the two-day workshop organised by the Jharkhand Assembly on the subject of ‘Principle and Practices in Parliamentary Democracy and Management of Public Finance’ for the assembly members at the ATI conference hall today in Ranchi. Governor Draupadi Murmu, Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Rai, Speaker Dinesh Oraon and Opposition Leader Hemant Soren and other important dignitaries were also present.
In her speech, Sumitra Mahajan told Jharkhand MLAs to address the people’s cause in accordance with the rules, regulations and the Constitution of India.
Governor Draupadi Murmu in her speech said that for the development of the state more public welfare policies are required. The existing work on the policies have to accelerated. For the policies to take full effect, better financial management practices should be put under effect.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das in his speech emphasised on the fact that MPs and MLAs backbone of democracy. He also said that the first duty of the elected representatives is being accountable to the public.
Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon said that the budget formulation process, budget allocation prioritization, process information should be a transparent process.
