Jharkhand Armed Forces to join anti Maoist operation

British administrators used Gorkhas in dealing with matters relating with enforcement of justice, peace and law and order in the nineteenth century. In year 1892 it was named “Bengal Military Police” and its platoons were deputed in the then Bengal Province which included Bihar and Orissa.After Bihar was bifurcated to create Jharkhand state,BMP became Jharkhand Armed Police(JAP).

Now,the JAP is going to be deployed in forest to deal with the Maoists.They may join hands with the Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) and Jharkhand police to contain Maoist outfits.

An announcement toward this end was made by Jharkhand DGP Rajiv Kumar in Palamau today. “A coordinated efforts between these forces is the need of the hour.We are trying to make these forces hold meeting at regular intervals to carry out their operations”,said Kumar.
