In a positive move initiated by the state government led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das to plan and maximize utilisation of the Corporate Social Responsibility fund,an institution was set up in Jharkhand today.
The institution-Jharkhand Corporate Social Responsibility Council(JCSRC)-carries representatives of five Public and five Private Companies.They were-(Public Sector) NTPC,CCL,BCCL,SAIL and DVC;and (Private Company) Tata Steel,Usha Martin,HINDALCO,Inddustries Ltd,Jindal Steel and Power Ltd and Rungta Mines Ltd.
In addition,Uranium Corporation of India Ltd,a PSU,and Electro Steel Ltd,a private company,were special representatives.
The prime objective of the JCSRC is to utilise the CSR fund for providing maximum benefit to the people in Jharkhand.
In the past,the CSR fund was spent by the comapny.Now,the fund will be spent as per the plan prepared by the JCSRC in the light of the demands of the people of the concerned area,it is learnt.
The first meeting of JCSRC is slated to be held in Ranchi on May 18,2015.”All companies were asked to collect the CSR related application from the state Industry Department before the meeting”,said a press release issued by information and public relations department.
