International Yoga Day to be observed on June 21

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today appealed to the people of the state to participate in the upcoming International Yoga Day Programs in the state on June 21.

Yoga helps to gain control over our consciousness and helps in dealing with stress and enhances the ability to withstand problems. As a stress diagnosis system, yoga has been recognised all over the world resulting in June 21 being celebrated as the International Yoga Day.

The International Yoga Day program will be held in the Morabadi Maidan at 6:30 am where around 10,000 people are expected to attend the 33 minute yoga session . Similar programs will also be held at the district headquarters, educational institutions and by NGOs.

The Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare of the Central Government has been designated as the Nodal Department for the organisation of the International Yoga Day. The National Cadet Corps, Satyananda Yoga Mission, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Yogoda Satsang Society and other institutions are said to participate in this meet.
