Illegal act led to LPG blast killing 2 in Latehar:Police

LPG blastThe death of two persons,including a five year old child,in Latehar district on Sunday night revealed that they were victims of explosion of LPG cylinders.

Among the victims were a 45-year-old woman.She had died in the local hospital while the child succumbed to burns on way from Chandwa to a hospital in Ranchi.

Reports said a CRPF officer, who was near the site,was among the injured. “All the injured, who sustained 50 per cent to 60 per cent burns, were referred to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi”,said the police.

Investigations by the police revealed that the blast had occurred around 8 pm when the owner of the house, who allegedly used to sell LPG gas illegally in retail, was filling the inflammable substance from one cylinder to another cylinder.”The blast destroyed a large portion of his house.Fire brigademen doused the fire soon.”
