Land subsidence caused probably by Jharia fire has jolted residents of the area by creating a tremor like situation.

Two houses belonging two non-BCCL families developed cracks. This is the second such incident within ten days.

Earlier, on August 16, a similar incident forced around a dozen families to leave their houses in Bhalgora.

No casualty and major property loss reported as the houses were vacant because most of the residents have already shifted out of Bhalgora following the previous incident, said a report.

People of the area claimed that yesterday’s subsidence was stronger than the previous one, creating a crater having a 10-feet diameter and around 50-feet depth in the area.
