In Jharkhand today, the protest against the death of a rape victim resulted in Ramgarh- Patratu road blockade with tyres being burnt in the middle of the highway.
This was after a teenager(17),who was abducted,raped and beaten up in Ramgarh district on Sunday died of injuries at the state government run RIMS hospital in Ranchi this morning.
According to the FIR filed, this girl, a student of Class XII,was allegedly abducted when she was returning home on Saturday.She was later raped and after she carried multiple injuries all over her body,was brought to her house by a three wheeler and left there in an unconscious state of mind on Sunday evening.
She was rushed to Ranchi based RIMS hospital where she died this morning.The parents of the girl told the police that one Chottu Khan wanted to marry her.When denied,Khan allegedly hatched conspiracy,abducted her,raped her,beat her up and left her outside her house.
Though Khan was arrested by the police,the friends,relatives and neighbours of the girl were on the boil.They demanded death punishment to the culprit. “We want justice.Hang him”,yelled a group of youths in Ramgarh.
