‘Govt to set up Trust for backward districts’ development schemes under CSR’

DSC_3978Responding to Chief Minister Raghubar Das’s suggestion that the State Bank of India should significantly contribute toward the state government’s project-skill development among the youths in Jharkhand,SBI Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya replied in the affirmative.

“We will do our best”,she said. .

The CM Das who welcomed SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya inside his official residence in Ranchi today told her that the State was planning to pick up those districts where the light of development had not reached till date.It is in these districts,the state government plans to speed up the process of development,he said.

He informed that with an aim to fix responsibility under the corporate social responsibility,the state government plans to set up a Trust comprising representatives of the PSUs owned by the state government,private sector,banks and so on.The state government will create priorities for them under the CSR.”To begin with,the state’s most backward district will be selected for making the Trust provide water,toilet,electricity,etc”,said Das.

Welcoming the state government’s move,Bhattacharya promised that the SBI will contribute toward this end.

The meeting was attended among others by Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba,CM’s Principal Secretary sanjay Kumar and SBI’s General Manager Rajnish Kumar.
