Governor inaugurates seminar on ‘Tribal Goverance and Tribal Development’ in Ranchi

DSC_0011Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu today inaugurated seminar on ‘Tribal Governance and Tribal Development’ in Ranchi.

Addressing the two-day seminar at IICM Premises, Kanke Road,she said that Jharkhand is one of the nine states which are part of Schedule V to the Constitution of India.

“Also,the State is one of the three states,along with neighbouring States of Odisha and Chattisgarh identified as substantial tribal population and thereby constitute tribal habitat in exact sense of the term”,she said.

In Jharkhand,the land laws introduced by the British Government, were followed to keep intact the land rights of the tribals,she pointed out.

“The topics included in this two-day seminar and the resource person who are here to address you in course of deliberations goes to suggest that the outcome would be substantial and beneficial for one and all”,she said.
