Governor appeals to Maoists to shun the path of violence

Governor-sayed-ahmed2Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed today said that terrorism and Naxalism were posing big challenges in the progress of the state and the country.

After hoisting the national flag on the 66th Republic Day celebrations in Ranchi, Ahmed appealed to Maoists to shun the path of violence and said the state has taken a strong initiative in rooting out the Left Wing Extremism.
He lauded the move to link security strategies with progressive works in Jharkhand and added that now the security personnel could take part in developmental works along with anti-Naxal operations.

He appealed to the misguided youths to shun the path of violence as it was not a solution to any problem.
He highlighted the government’s aim to provide employment opportunities to the people in villages and improve their economic conditions.

Among several other initiatives, he spelt out programs taken or being taken up under animal husbandry, fisheries, agriculture, skill training, irrigation, computerization and education.
