Good News:CCL begins coal production at Magadh Mine in Chatra

For the past over ten years,the Magadh open cast coal mine had remained unused for over a decade mainly due to the fear of Maoists in Chatra.Geologically,Magadh was considered as Asia’s largest open cast mine.

Today,the coal production undertaken by Central Coalfields Ltd at this Magadh open cast mines is a reality.The project capacity is estimated to be around 70 million tonne annually.If this much of coal is produced from this mine,it is bound to help the state gain economically.

Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das thinks differently.”It will not only increase power production,but create fresh opportunities for the unemployed yourths”,says Das.
