Five worst naxal-hit panchayats in Palamau district will be linked to development program under Palamau Development Act Plan.

Deputy Commissioner K Srinivasan said, “We have identified five of the seven panchayats under Manatu police station in Palamau district, which was badly hit by the naxal problem, and development works will start soon.”

He said development would be done in education, health, road and other sectors at a cost of Rs 100 crore in the current financial year.

Srinivasan said the five identified panchayats have 6193 families with a population of 32,926 including 7704 Schedule Tribe and 10,468 Schedule Caste men and women. While the literacy rate of these panchayat was 35.7 per cent, the sex ratio is 930 per 1000 male.
