Exressways coming up to link Ranchi with Bokaro,Jamshedpur Railway station


Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has sought to boost the state’s economy by undertaking mega projects connected with its infrastructure.

Sample some projects already cleared by him:

  1. Expressway between Ranchi and Bokaro that is planned to link it with the Grand Trunk Road in Dhanbad.
  2. Expressway between Jamshedpur Railway station with the National Highway 33.The project is to be executed by the state government in league with the Tata Steel.A sum of Rs 1200 crore was approved toward the same end.
  3. Two airports-one at Jamshedpur and another at Deoghar.

In addition,the work related with the long pending Kandra-Ranchi rail track is expected to start soon.The Rs 800 crore cost of this project is to be shared in the ratio of 50:50 between the Union Railway Ministry and the state government which has already released its share of Rs 400 crore.

Asked for his reaction on these projects,Munda said that his government want them to take off at the earliest.”The process has already been initiated”,said Munda.

Since expectation from the state government was low,such plans were widely dubbed in public as “Ghoshna”(announcement).But Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Ranjit Tibrewal said:”We appreciate his move.If these projects take off,we are sure they will strengthen the base of state’s business and economy in the long run.”
