Sudesh Mahato,Deputy CM,who founded All Jharkhand Students Union as a political party,has become a favourite leader of the Ex Maoists.Santosh Kumar,Sobha and her husband Yugal Pal who was a terror in Palamu for more than two decades,have joined the band wagon of AJSU.
Asked why had he joined Mahato’s party,Pal was forthright in his reply that he felt Sudesh gives respect and honour to all his cadres.”I like this”,said Pal.”Within the CPI(Maoist),top leader like Ganapati used to greet me at the railway station.”
Kumar,Sobha and Pal had joined hands with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha after they were caught by the security forces.Pal,who came out of jail on bail on August 27, had contested the 2009 Assembly polls on the JMM ticket only to lose it.In the coming 2014 polls,Pal is set to contest the poll on the AJSU ticket.
When quizzed why had he quit Guruji Shibu Soren’s party,Pal said that the party was no longer run by him.”We all have great regards for him.He had not only led a popular movement against the money lenders,but also fought for the poor Adivasis and Dalits. But now the party founded by him had deviated from its mission and its leaders were busy making money for themselves”,said Pal.
