Commercial taxes dept. tops list of contributions from district with ₹15,197 crore
The district scored a distinction in revenue mobilisation, contributing ₹18,846.73 crore to the State exchequer during the last fiscal, thus meeting 89.15% of the target.
Various departments mobilised ₹18,732 crore revenue while recovery accounted for ₹69.79 crore and land tax ₹44.77 crore. Building tax worth ₹21.95 crore and luxury tax to the tune of ₹3.05 crore were collected from the district.
The office of the deputy commissioner of commercial taxes at Ernakulam topped the list of contributions from the district with ₹15,197 crore, meeting 89.35% of the target.
Mattancherry commercial tax deputy commissioner’s office mobilised ₹1,473.49 crore, hitting 88.13% of the set target. Lottery department (₹710.02 crore), district registrar (₹647.15 crore), Ernakulam Regional Transport Office (₹359.06 crore), and Muvattupuzha Regional Transport Office (₹121.16 crore) were the other major contributors.
National Savings Scheme collected ₹158.01 crore, thus exceeding the target of ₹135 crore. Perumbavoor Divisional Forest Officer mobilised ₹28.23 crore while Malayattoor and Kothamangalam Divisional Forest Officers mobilised ₹2.50 crore and ₹ 95 lakh. Mining and Geology Department collected ₹33.93 crore and Ernakulam Excise Deputy Commissioner ₹7.54 crore.
Kanayannur taluk mobilised ₹19.23 crore through revenue recovery, which was 87.21% of the target while Kothamangalam taluk collected ₹3.11 crore, which was 95.53% of the target.
Kerala Financial Corporation collected ₹2.47 crore, Kerala State Financial Enterprises ₹8.12 crore, Kunnathunadu taluk ₹10.81 crore, and Aluva taluk ₹10.49 crore through revenue recovery.
