ED attaches assets of former Minister in money laundering case

Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth about Rs 1.86 crore of former Jharkhand Minister Hari Narayan Rai in connection with the alleged multi-crore illegal investments and hawala case against him and former Chief Minister Madhu Koda.

According to sources a few immovable assets of Rai in the state have been attached by the agency under Prevention of Money Laundering Act and the estimated value of the assets is about Rs 1.86 crore.

The Directorate has accused the former Minister in Koda government of having laundered Rs 4.83 crore in the disproportionate assets case against the former Chief Minister and his associates.
