Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajib Gauba has directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure that villagers get forest land deeds under the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 by September 30.
Gauba,who directed that the old pending applications should be shifted to the Gram Sabha and the Gram Sabha should prepare the roaster and dispose off the applications in league with the forest officers,today held video conference with DCs on the pending issues connected with the Forest Dwellers Act 2006.
The CS directed the Secretary of the forest department to hold monitoring of those areas where distribution of forest land deeds was slow and ensure that the right persons acquired them.Also,he directed the DCs to hold meetings with officers at the Sub Divisional level and help them issue a common type of forest land needs.
Incidentally,on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2,the Chief Minister Raghubar Das plans to hold video conference with the DCs.”By then,the DCs should get scholarships,by cycles and forest land deeds distributed”,said Gauba.
