Develop Patratu Dam as a tourist site,directs CM

The plan to develop Patratu dam as a tourist site gained ground on Wednesday when a meeting headed by Chief Minister Raghubar Das was held inside Project Bhawan in Ranchi.

During the meeting,CM directed senior officials to start the work by making available land to consultant to implement the three -phase plan within a week and complete construction work in first phase by by December 31,2016.

In the first phase,the area covering spots where people celebrate Chhath festival,tourists visit and hold picnic have to be developed in the form of a cooking zone where food can be cooked,drinking water will be available and environment is kept clean.

In addition,a Food Plaza plans to be built.Alongside,the shops selling art and craft of the state can be set up with a three K.M. long pathway with seating chairs,each light up with a solar light.In the middle of the pathway,a skywalk is planned to be built in such a way that culture of Jharkhand can be displayed,said the CM.

As per the plan,in the second stage,a convention centre and a water sport,in addition to the iceland lying in the middle of the dam have to be developed.”At this iceland,a statue of ‘Iron-Man’ Sardar Balabh Bhai Patel is planned to be put up.

In the third phase,”natural trails,Adventure zones,Bike trails,Welness/Meditation centre,Revolving restaurant,Musical fountain,200 Ft.Giant Ferris Wheel and Floating Water Fountain have also been planned to be built during this phase for the tourists.The local people have to be identified and trained to be made self employed there,said the CM.

The meeting was attended among others by Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma,Development Commissioner Amit Khare,CM’s Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar,Principal Secretary(Rural development) NN Sinha and Secretary Satendra Singh.
