In accordance with its Cabinet decision,the state Sales Tax Department today notified hike in prices of petrol and diesel with effect from 00.00 hours on Wednesday.
As per the notification made by the Department today,the Value Added Tax(VAT) on diesel was increased from 18 percent to 22 percent.On petrol,the VAT was increased from 18 percent to 22 percent,in addition to one percent Less tax.
This means that the consumers are going to pay hiked up prices of petrol and diesel from February 25,2015.
