‘Dented,Painted’women in New Delhi herald pink revolution,says Prez’s son

“Those who are coming in the name of students in the rallies, sundori, sundori mahila (beautiful women), highly dented and painted.”

This remark by President Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijit has enraged women activists and their supporters across the globe.He,who is an MP from Jangipur seat,was talking to a vernacular news channel.

He further commented that he failed to understand how they give interviews to TV showing off their children.” I wonder whether they are students at all,” he had said and added that “what’s basically happening in Delhi is something like pink revolution, which has very little connection with ground realities.”

His remarks were subject of bitter criticisms.Even his sister Sharmistha had expressed her anguish and apologized on his behalf.Soon,he withdrew his comments and said they were not meant to hurt “any particular section or any particular sentiment”.
