
Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba said today that the date for the Jharkhand panchayat elections will be announced after the Bihar Assembly elections are held. Gauba directed the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts to prepare the voter list within the stipulated time frame. Gauba presided over the meeting with the Deputy Commissioners through video conferencing from the Project Bhavan in Ranchi.
State Election Commissioner Shiv Vasant said the panchayat elections are being held in order to strengthen the democratic scenario in Jharkhand. The panchayat elections are going to be held in 4 phases and there will be an interval of 5-7 days between 2 phases. Security personnel will be deployed so that the election process runs smoothly.
A software is being improved for the purpose of preparing the voter list. This software has already been tested in 2 blocks.
