Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has urged Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani to set up an IIIT on “public/private partnership”.
In his letter to the Union Minister, Das said that the IIIT would play an important part in meeting the requirements of Digital India and the institute be initiated at the earliest, said an official release.
The chief minister drew attention to the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August last year for setting up an IIIT in Ranchi. He said the state has not yet received a formal approval from the Centre despite the state government pursuing it, the release added.
