They request 5% reservation in Central government enlistments and 4% amount in State
The capital saw a moment back to back day of challenge on the issue of reservation on Tuesday as a large number of Dalit Christians took out a ‘reservation security rally’ to the Secretariat.
The rally, sorted out by the Council of Dalit Christians (CDC), raised the request of 5% booking for Dalit Christians in Union government enrollments and 4% reservation in the State. It likewise requested 10% booking for understudies of the group in advanced education.
The rally started from the Museum intersection. Individuals from different locale, including ladies and kids, joined the rally.
“This isn’t only a group issue yet a congregation issue as 95% of Indian Christians are Dalit”, CSI Kollam-Kottarakara Bishop Oommen George said.
The CDC and church agents later met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and presented a notice of their requests. The delegates said the Chief Minister had consented to investigate their requests for portion.
