
Curfew was relaxed today in the trouble-torn areas of Jamshedpur as no untoward incident was reported in the city which witnessed clashes between two communities on Monday.
Curfew was relaxed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and later for three hours from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in riot-hit Mango, Azadnagar, Olidih and MGM police stations area, Public Relation Officer of East Singhbhum district Avinash said.
The curfew was relaxed in rest of the city from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., he said.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Amitabh Kushal and Senior Superintendent of Police Anoop T Mathew visited the four affected police station areas to take stock of the situation.
The Jharkhand government has ordered a probe into the clashes by a two-member committee comprising Kolhan Division Commissioner Arun and DIG R K Dhan.
