
Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba today said that during the Kharif season(read summer) sowing is not done on the 12 lakh hectares of cultivable land in Jharkhand.
“This huge piece of land can be used for cultivation of pulses”,said Gauba.
He said, in Jharkhand,there is feasible possibility to massively increase cultivable land by using cultivation of pulses.In the process,it can increase the production of pulses,he said.
“The main aim to bring about change in development of agriculture is to increase the size of cultivable land and production”,said Gauba while addressing a meeting of officials of the state agriculture department at Project Bhawan in Ranchi.
