The legal working week in Jharkhand,is Monday to Friday.The week end-Saturday and Sunday- is holiday.But now when the State is under the BJP government led by its Chief Minister Raghubar Das,Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba attends office on Saturday.
Today,Gauba held meeting with officers in the morning before 10 AM.Among the officers who attended the meeting included Principal Secretary(Rural Development)NN Sinha.
Though the outcome of the meeting was not available,talk in the corridors of power was positive.”Now when senior officers are working on week end holiday,there is no doubt that the government will be able to perform and do justice to people in the form of implementing development work”,said a senior IAS officer.
Another IAS officer however expressed a different opinion.”When you work serious for five days,you need rest for two days.Working on the week end holiday raises tension and depression”,he quipped.
