Jharkhand Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma today reviewed the works of the Labour Department and directed it to eliminate child labour in the state.
The CS said,every sector connected with child labour must be mapped by District Labour Officer.Also,she directed to conduct a survey on Beedi workers and hold a health check up camp near by.
“A new law must be made as soon as possible for registration of domestic workers”,directed the CS adding that 50,000 construction workers would be covered under Pradhan Mantri Jiwan Jyoti Yojna.
The CS directed he Department’s Principal Secretary MS Bhatia to hold a weekly review of the Department on ease of doing business in Jharkhand.
During the meeting attended among others by Bhatia,the CS informed that 50,000 youths have to be identified and trained to make them become self employed.
She also directed the Department officials to visit the camp of Beedi workers and check if they were paid minimum wages fixed by the state government
