While Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das left Ranchi for Bengalore to attend the BJP’s National office bearers meeting in Bangakuru,its Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba had an extremely busy day in office on Thursday.
Gauba,who rushed to Hazaribagh on Thursday morning,held an official meeting there with an aim to strengthen the state administration and speed up the process of development at the divisional,district and block levels of the state.
As it is,there were many Blocks where the Block Development Officers don’t stay in the night and their offices rarely open.The DCs and SPs rarely undertake tour of these blocks.Most of these blocks,suffering from lack of roads,electricity and hospitals,were infested by the Maoists.
Aware of it,Gauba appears to have initiated the move to hold the meeting of senior officers at the Divisional Headquarter town of Hazaribagh to begin with.
“Now the Divisional Commissioners will be asked to inspect the district secretariat and Deputy Commissioners,SPs will be asked to inspect their respective offices at the block and police station levels”,said a senior officer who participated in the meeting at Hazaribagh.
The meeting was attended among others by senior officers-mainly Principal Secretaries,Commissioner,North Chotanagpur,Deputy Commissioners of Koderma,Giridih,Chatra and Hazaribagh.
