The Jharkhand government has decided to build helipads in the Maoists infested areas.

As many as 16 places-Latehar-Herganj,Barwadih,Garu,Saryu and Latehar;Garhwa-Chinia,Ranka,and Bhandaria;Bokaro-Jhumra,Nawadih nand Pek;West Singhbhum-Ankuwa;Chatra-Pratappur and Hantargunj;Gumla-Banari and Gurdari-were identified for building the helipads.

These places -iinfested by the Maoists-were under the radar of the security forces.They had set up camps there for carrying out anti Maoist operations.

Meanwhile,a comparative analysis of total number of incidents related with the Maoist violence shows an increase from 482 in 2010 to 508 in 2011.The worst affected was Palamau where 96 incidents were reported in 2011,against 78 in 2010.Sahebgunj,Koderma,Jamtara and Godda remained un affected with zero case registered in these districts in 2011.

Alongside,police has learnt that the CPI(Maoist)had set up two committees to strengthen the outfit.”In recent past,the member of its Polit Bureau was either unable to pass or delayed in conveying decision taken by the Central committee to its zonal committees in Bihar and Jharkhand…The outfit was not getting fresh recruits.There was intra party feud among its leadership at zonal level.To over come all these weaknesses,two new committees were formed under the leadership of Nishantji alias Arvindji”,said a senior police officer who does not want to be named.
