Complete Eastern Corridor project soon,CM tells officials

In a meeting held today with senior officers of Tata Steel and State Government,Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the construction of Eastern Corridor must be completed at the earliest.

‘Its construction will speed up development of industry.Also local transportation system will become comfortable’,he said.

Das said that a joint team of officials of the Tata Steel and the state government should resolve the problem connected with implementation of Eastern Corriddor project.”They should hold the meeting and resolve the problem jointly”,he opined while addressing a joint meeting of the state government officials and Tata Steel inside his office at Project Bhawan in Ranchi.

He said that Jharkhand should be Tata Steel’s priority number one.”This company should do work in such a way that its people,especially the youth get benefited from it.”West Singbhum in Jharkhand has maximum iron ores,but poverty was also maximum there.To end poverty there,special work has to be done,he said.

Das discussed Tata Steel’s proposal to set up IIIT.The state government is ready to provide land.The work should be started soon.He also discussed the proposal to construct Software park.”IT Park is the need of the hour in Jharkhand.Tata Steel can provide significant contribution toward this end”,he said.

The meeting attended among others by Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba,Development Commissioner RS Poddar,Principal Secretary(Road) Raj Bala Verma,Principal Secretary(IT)NN Sinha,CM’s Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar and Secretary(Industry) Hemani Pandey,was addressed by Tata Steel’s Managing Director TV Narendran.

Narendran said that work related with Eastern Corridor will start soon.Even the works connected with construction of IIIT will take off soon,he said.
