More than a month in advance,Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today directed the top brass of the state administration to ensure that the devotees visiting Baba Baidyanath Dham at Deoghar on the occasion of the annual Shravani Mela, beginning on July 20 to end on August 18,2016,don’t face any problem.
During a meetng organized with an aim to prepare a plan for the Shravani Mela,the CM said that the entire Deoghar and its adjoining areas in Jharkhand must be cleaned and basic facilities of water and electricity made available to them.
“No stone should be left unturned so that devotees face no problem anywhere.Toward the same end,every body has to work as part of a team.Involve the people of Deoghar and Dumka toward this end”,he directed senior officers.
“To manage the crowd,apart from the police and security forces,deploy atleast 100 persons from the civil defence and volunteers each.Take work from them in three shifts.Provide food and lodging facility to them,especially those persons who were involved in security services.Also,deal with the crowd by making it halt and build tent houses for them at Jasidih Railway station and other spots”,directed the CM.
During the meeting,it was decided to request the Union Railway Minister to introduce special train services.Also,it was resolved to put up portable mast lights,increase the number of Magistrates,provide each one of them a walkie-talkie,tie up with private doctors,make available drinking water points and put up dust beens at sites to keep the area clean.To make available uninterrupted supply of electricity make use of transformers lying in stores.
Incidentally,the Shravan month,as per traditional Hindu calendar followed in North India, is of great importance at Baba Baidyanath Dham – the Lord Shiva Temple at Deogharh in Jharkhand. In 2016, Shravani Mela begins on July 20 and ends on August 18.
As it is,millions of Lord Shiva devotees from India, Nepal and other countries around the world undertake a pilgrimage from Sultanganj to Baba BaidyanathTemple. The month-long fair is also known as Shrabani Mela.
The meeting was attended among others by Jharkhand Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma,Development Commissioner Amit Khare,Additional Chief Secretary NN Pandey,the CM’s principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar,DGP DK Pandey,Principal Secretary(Urban Development)Arun Kumar Singh and the CM’s Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal,Secretary(Tourism) Avinash Kumar.
