Chief Minister Hemant Soren orders official to keep vigil until cyclone Phalin subsidies

Hemant SorenChief Minister gave this direction while assessing the damage caused by the cyclone with the officials of Disaster Management, Agriculture ,Health, Irrigation and State Electricity Board. He said that all departments should be alert in providing relief to the people in view of the disaster.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to keep a watch on all rivers and dams in view of heavy rainfall. The JSEB should change all burnt out transformers within a week and wide publicity should be given about precaution to be taken against lightening.

At the meeting Disaster Management Department Secretary shri Arun Kumar Singh said that all Deputy Commissioners had been given necessary instructions by way of video conference. Nearly 7,000 people have been shifted to relief camps. They are being provided food and drinking water.

Two teams of National Disaster Relief Force had been requisitioned by the state and they had been deployed at Dhanbad and Jamshedpur. Durga Puja Samitis had been asked to take precaution.

He said that 12,000 farmers registered with Agriculture Department portal had been sent alert SMS to remove all ready vegetables from the field. This alert was very helpful and damage was minimal. Water level in all dams in the state was less than the maximum level.

Agriculture Weather Expert Colonel Sanjay Shrivastava said that the state remained fully alert. In the coming days more rainfall is expected but no cyclone is going to hit the state, he said.

At the meeting Finance and Health Minister Shri Rajendra Prasad Singh,Disaster Management Minister Shri Mannan Mallick, Chief Secreratry Shri R S Sharma, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Shri Sukdev Singh, officials of the JSEB and others were present.
