CMD CCL Shri Gopal Singh fecilitating Padmashree Dr R Guleria during CME 2016On the second day (26th Feb, 2016) of “Coal India CME 2016,” Padamshree Dr. Randeep Guleria along with other renowned medical practitioners presented their papers at IICM, Ranchi.

This scientific session, organized jointly by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and Indian Institute of Coal Management (IICM), will end tomorrow i.e., 27th Feb, 2016.

On this occasion,Gopal Singh Chairman-cum-Managing Director, CCL congratulated everyone for organisation of this three -day event and asked the organisers to ensure that this annual event should be held regularly.

He added that people residing in the remote areas have rights to better health service and therefore he urged the medical fraternity to chalk out a time bound program in this direction. He also spoke on the necessity of trauma centre, critical emergency and training of doctors.

Earlier in the day, Padamshree, Dr Randeep Guleria of AIIMS, New Delhi gave a presentation on “Management of COPD and Asthma”. He informed the gathering on the various features of the COPD & Asthma.

He said that India is one of the few countries where tobacco is consumed in more than one form i.e. smoking and there is immediate need to convince people to quit tobacco. He informed the crowd on the various ways of quitting intake of tobacco, which can be adopted. He laid emphasis on importance of exercise, nutrition, yoga etc for pulmonary rehabilitation. He said that neglect of COPD and asthma can lead to other disease.

On first day of the “Coal India CME 2016”, Dr Bhavuk Garg, AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr Praveen Kumar Bansal, Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, Faridabad, Dr Yuvraj, Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, Faridabad, Dr Deepak Gunjan, AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr Shyamal Sarkar, Ranchi, Dr Sunil Prakash, BLK Hospital, New Delhi, Dr Sanjay, Medica, Ranchi, Dr Vijay Mishra, Medica, Ranchi deliberated on different topics of their respective specialization like cardiology, oncology etc.
On the final day of CME 2016, there will be 15 papers presentations along with couple of lectures.
