Commit theft for a girl friend?A case being investigated by the police provides its answer in the affirmative.
Here is the case:Rishikant Giri,19,was remanded to judicial custody on the charge of committing theft.His friend Narain Sharma,20,was also arrested and sent to jail on the identical charge.
Giri,son of a “doctor”in alternative medicine(“Ayurveda”),who is a school drop out,worked as an employee at the premise of Amit Modi,a businessman.After his car,laptop,I Pad,Mouse,UPS and car(Indica) went missing from his home,Modi lodged an FIR at Ranchi’s Sukhdeo Nagar Police station on September 14.Result?
The police recovered the the car,laptop,I Pad,Mouse and UPS after nabbing Sharma.On the interrogations of Sharma,Giri was arrested from a hide out and these articles were recovered from far flung areas in Ranchi and Dhanbad.
Inquiry by the police revealed that after he failed in Plus II,Giri fled to Mumbai where he had committed theft first.On his return from Mumbai,he started working as an employee of Modi and company and made friendship with Sharma.”We have enough evidence to prove them guilty in the case”,Ranchi City SP Vipul Shukla told the www.indiancitynews.com.
Although in his defence Giri told the police that he had committed theft to cajole and appease his girl friend,the police had neither identified her nor recorded this statement of his.”No matter whether or not he committed the crime for his girl friend,we have clinching evidence that he committed theft in connivance with his friend Sharma”,said the police.
