Jharkhand government has decided to celebrate the first International Yoga day on June 21.
The celebration will take place across the State.In Ranchi,Chief Minister Raghubar Das will perform Yoga with thousands of government officers,staff,school students and NCC cadets at Birsa Munda Football Stadium.
The main roads are carrying bill boards calling upon the people to observe the International Yoga Day.Some of these bill boards carry the pictures of the CM Das and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As it is,International Yoga day was declared by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014. Yoga, an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice have its origin in India.It aims to transform the body and the mind.
The declaration of this day came after the call for the adoption of 21 June as International Day of Yoga by PM Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014 wherein he stated the bacckground and merit of Yoga.
Following the move,many public and private sector companies and NGOs have plans to celebrate the Yoga Day on June 21.Already the NGO like Vikas Bharti has started the Yoga course for its staff and managers in Ranchi.
