Jharkhand has gained the spotlight with the President of India awarding silver medal to Sunil Barnwal for successfully conducting the Census of India,2011.
Barnwal,IAS officer,who is currently Deputy Commissioner,Dhanbad,headed the Census in Jharkhand.
In his December 24 letter to Barnwal,Registrar General and Census Commissioner C.Chandramouli,writes:”I have honuor to inform you that you have been conferred the ‘Census 2011 Silver Medal’ by the President of India for your outstanding contribution to the successful conduct of the Census of India,2011.”
The President Pranab Mukherjee has given his consent to award the medal at Vigyan Bhawan at 11.30 hours on January 11.
