The meeting of State Level Bankers Committee(SLBC) was held in Ranchi today.
It was the 50th SLBC’s meeting addressed by Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and attended among others by Bankers and Officials.
Records revealed that SLBC aims to unite Banks and the government to implement banking laws for the people,especially poorest of the poor and envisaged as a consultative and coordinating body with all financial Institutions operating in the State.
The SLBC consists of representatives of all commercial banks, chairmen of Regional Rural Banks and financial institutions operating in the State. Representatives of State Co-operative Bank, Land Development Bank, Reserve Bank Of India and NABARD are also invariably invited to attend the meetings of the committees.
The state government officials participated in the meetings of this forum. The committee discussed issues, considering alternative solutions to the various problems in the field of banking development and evolved a consensus of coordinated action by the member institutions.
