The bandh called by a group of Opposition parties gained a mix response of people in Jharkhand.
Two main parties-Congress and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-remained out of the state wide bandh called by Jharkhand Vikas Morcha,CPI and its trade union CITU, who did not have any representative in the Jharkhand Assembly.They had called the bandh to protest against the Land Acquisition Bill.
The state government offices,courts-including Jharkhand High Court-scools and college swere closed due to the Budha Jayanti holiday.
However,shops and market places remained closed throughout the state.Even traffic on the high ways and roads was thin,said the reports reaching Ranchi on Monday afternoon.
